<<< Welcome to the quote curator series! These posts are quick passages inspired by motivational quotes to help you through any season of life. Today’s is a simple quote of encouragement. Read this letter if you want permission to rest or if you want to encourage regular rest in your life. >>>

To those who are tired and weary,

The seasons of life can be harsh.

Sometimes every waking moment can feel like a struggle. Oftentimes, we find ourselves in a place where we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

When do we get a break?

When will we have another chance to breathe fully? To relax? To rest?

If you are someone who feels like the rat race just won’t stop and you are feeling too tired to move on, then let me motivate you with this quote of encouragement:

Take rest. A field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.

My dog DaVinci is an expert in rest!

I know that a part of you is going to struggle. You’re going to feel like there just isn’t time for rest. That part of you will listen to what the world says about hustling and goal-setting and productivity.

And I’ll be honest, none of those things are bad, but they shouldn’t be your whole life.

You need rest more than you realize, and it is not irresponsible to take that rest.

If you haven’t accomplished all that you think you need to this week, don’t use that as an excuse to say you don’t have time to take a break, because you do. Make it a weekly habit in your life to rest for one day a week.

Your problems won’t get bigger just because you took a day off, but you will be able to come back to that work the next day feeling rested and restored

Make it a weekly habit in your life to rest for one day a week.

In Its season

Not because you deserve it

Not because you earned it.

Simply because it is a gift to you that will feed your soul and bring you restoration.

Still not convinced? Let’s learn a lesson from nature.

The season of fall teaches us that it is important to take a rest so that you can come back renewed later on!

When a farmer cares for their crops, they rotate the fields regularly. This means that once in a while, they will leave one field alone each year to give it a break.

Do you know why they do this?

Because crops grow better when they have been given a break on occasion.

We are like those fields. We can still grow without taking breaks, but we can fully thrive when given time for regular rest.

So if you are feeling weary and worn out this season, remind yourself to take a rest with this simple quote of encouragement. Not because you have given up, but because you know that it will help you in the long run.

Sleep in, wear your pyjamas all day, take a bath- whatever is rest for you is what you need to do. Enjoy it, and don’t leave any room for guilt. Rest is something we should all prioritize and it is courageous to fight for that rest!
