Bullet Journal Spread #1: Currently I’m Into…
I don’t always do this page, but it is a fun one to insert at the beginning of each month. It is a place where you can write down the things that you’ve been doing that month. It feels great to look back on these pages and remind yourself of what you got up to that month. This bullet journal spread feels a little bit like a time capsule when you come back to it months later.
To make this spread, I usually just draw some boxes to separate the categories. I sometimes change up the categories I use, but here are some of the ones I like to use:
- Places I’ve been going
- Things I’ve been doing
- Foods I’ve been eating
- Stuff I’ve been buying
- Clothes I’ve been wearing
- Movies I’ve been watching
- Songs I’ve been listening to
- Things I’ve been learning
- Emotions I’ve been feeling
- People I’ve been seeing
Just pick some categories that appeal to you and write them in your bullet journal spread. Throughout the month, fill in the boxes and make a new spread when the month is over.
Bullet Journal Spread #2: Wishlist
This page is for you to write down the things you might want to buy in the future so that you don’t forget. It is not a list of things you need, but of things you want. Oftentimes, I don’t end up buying the things on the list, but I use it to make sure that I am spending wisely.
If you want to control your spending, here’s a little trick you can use:
Whenever you want something, write it down on your wishlist. That item needs to be on your wishlist for 30 days before you are allowed to buy it. If after 30 days you still want it, then you can buy it. However, you might find that you don’t want it as much as you thought after that period of time.
Additionally, if you find something in the store that is an impulse buy, you have to first refer to your wishlist. If it’s not on your wishlist, then you can’t buy it. Write it down and wait 30 days. It will help stop you from impulse buying and can save you a lot of money!

Bullet Journal Spread #3: Gift List
I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of trouble finding the right gifts for people. I will have great ideas for them throughout the year, but when it comes time to actually buy them something, I totally blank on what I thought would make a good gift.
My husband, however, is a great gift-giver. He has a strategy that works fantastically! On his phone, he keeps a list of gift ideas for loved ones. When he has an idea throughout the year, he writes it down on his memo for later. When it’s time to buy something, he goes back to his list to remind him of the gift ideas he had.
Now, I’m not much of a phone person and I prefer to write things down on paper (which is primarily the reason why I own a bullet journal). However, I decided to adopt his method and create a bullet journal spread to write down my ideas. In every tag, I write the name of a loved one. Every time I think of a gift idea, I insert that idea into their tag. Then I refer to that tag when it’s time to buy a gift. It’s a great spread to have if you need gift inspiration throughout the year.
Bullet Journal Spread #4: Last Time I…
Is anyone else really bad at keeping in touch with friends? What about remembering to do maintenance chores around the house? If that’s you, then this page will work wonders in your life!
The purpose of this page is to keep track of the last time that you did certain things. Mine is split up into two sections: the last time I did maintenance chores and the last time I connected with specific friends. This will help ensure that tasks and people don’t get forgotten over time. You can actively keep track of what you’ve done and who you’ve spoken to. I really like to use this for friends and family who do not live close by. It reminds me to reach out to them on a regular basis.
Extra note: I don’t put any cleaning chores here because I use an app for that. Check out how to use an app to make your cleaning process easier to track.
Bullet Journal Spread #5: Books to Read
This page is always my favourite one to look at! Its purpose is pretty clear: It is a space for you to record what books you’ve read this year. Whenever you start a new book, write the title on one of the books in your picture. Whenever you finish it, colour in the book that you completed.

Bullet Journal Spread #6: Movies and Shows I Watched
I’ll be honest, I’ve tried a lot of different styles in the past with this one, but because I zip through movies a lot faster than books, the upkeep for this page ends up being really overwhelming if I don’t keep it simple.
For this bullet journal spread, I input the month that I watched the show or movie, the title, and my star rating.
Here’s how I rate the movies:
- 1 Star- I absolutely hated it and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone or ever watch again
- 2 Stars- I didn’t really like it and I wouldn’t choose to watch it again
- 3 Stars- It was decent, but I wouldn’t choose to watch it again
- 4 Stars- It was good and I might like to watch it again sometime
- 5 Stars- It was incredible and it is going to be a movie that I will probably watch on a yearly basis
If you like to lightly critique the movies you watch, then this bullet journal idea is a great one for you and it’s so easy to make!
